Silversea has made history with dual-ships Silver Nova and Silver Moon arriving in Melbourne yesterday at the same time – a first for the luxury cruise liner.
The maritime spectacle drew many cruise enthusiasts to the port where Silver Moon was making her maiden season in Australia.
Silver Moon will now depart on a 16-day voyage to South Australia and New Zealand, while Silver Nova is embarking on a 12-night voyage to Tasmania and then New Zealand.
Silver Nova and Silver Ray are the cruise line’s newest ships, part of the ‘Nova’ class of ships, the largest and most spacious of the Silversea fleet.
The new “horizontal design” means more square footage to accommodate the lounges, bars and restaurants, and all-balcony suites.

In October, Silversea unveiled the largest voyage collection in its history – 414 new voyages to more than 600 destinations for 2027-2028 – including cruises onboard both Silver Nova and Silver Ray.
Ranging from six to 77 days, the new sailings include 271 classic voyages and 143 expeditions to more than 600 of the world’s most iconic and off-the-beaten-path destinations in more than 100 countries.
