Accor is expanding its Mövenpick presence in Australia and the Pacific with the debut of its first hotel under the premium Swiss brand in Adelaide in December 2026, transforming the former Peppers Waymouth Adelaide into Mövenpick Hotel Adelaide.
The Adelaide CBD hotel has undergone a multi-million-dollar refurb in recent years, including a full guestroom redesign, new suites and family rooms, upgraded meeting spaces and a new restaurant.
It will have further guestroom enhancements to transition to the Mövenpick brand, taking inspiration from South Australian landscapes, such as the Limestone Coast, Murray River, Barossa Valley and Flinders Ranges, and reflected in artworks and décor.

Accor Pacific COO Adrian Williams said: “Adelaide is a dynamic city with a strong cultural and culinary identity, making it a natural fit for Mövenpick.”
“This signing allows us to introduce a brand that resonates with today’s travellers – one that brings people together through generous hospitality, shared experiences and a genuine sense of place.”

The move reflects continued momentum for one of the global hospitality group’s fastest-growing brands worldwide and the fifth Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts property in Australasia.
In Australia and New Zealand, Mövenpick Hotel Adelaide joins other branded 4.5- to 5-star properties in Melbourne, Hobart, Auckland and Wellington.
Globally, Mövenpick is projected to grow its 140-plus hotel network in over 40 countries by more than 70 per cent across the next five years, including the opening of Mövenpick Singapore in late 2026, which will be the largest Mövenpick in the region.

Accor Global Chief Development Officer Camil Yazbeck said: “Across the world, we are seeing strong demand for brands that offer both emotional connection and commercial performance.”
“Mövenpick delivers on both fronts. Its focus on joyful reconnection, combined with a highly adaptable and efficient model, makes it particularly compelling for conversion opportunities such as Mövenpick Hotel Adelaide. This signing reflects the brand’s growing momentum in the Pacific and our confidence in its long-term potential.”
KARRYON UNPACKS: For travel advisors, Mövenpick Hotel Adelaide adds a new premium option from a globally recognised brand in the South Australian capital, strengthening the city’s appeal for both leisure and corporate clients.
