Virgin Voyages unveils reimagined Valiant Lady; here's what Aussie cruisers can expect

Virgin Voyages has relaunched Valiant Lady from dry dock with a new Indian restaurant, redesigned venues and 20+ new experiences, sailing the Med and Caribbean.

Virgin Voyages has relaunched its second Lady Ship, Valiant Lady, fresh from dry dock with new dining, redesigned spaces and more than 20 new onboard experiences, sailing the Mediterranean this northern summer before repositioning to San Juan for the Caribbean.

Valiant Lady is back at sea after a dry-dock refresh, returning with a new Indian-inspired restaurant, redesigned venues and a wave of more than 20 new “Happenings” across the adults-only ship.

The ship begins her upcoming seasons in the Mediterranean: the Italian Grand Tour, French Riviera and Ibiza, followed by a Northern Explorer series sailing from Amsterdam through Iceland, and a one-off “Total Eclipse of the Med” itinerary timed to experience totality on open water.

In October, she repositions to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for six- to eight-night Caribbean sailings running through to April 2027.

What’s new aboard Valiant Lady

The headline addition is Ariya by Razzle Dazzle, a 220-seat restaurant inspired by India’s spice markets, with a menu spanning the country from lamb shank biryani to puffed rice and avocado chaat, alongside regionally influenced cocktails. The venue is named for Sir Richard Branson’s great-great-grandmother, a Tamil Nadu traveller, and joins the line’s existing dining lineup.

Several spaces have been reworked. The Athletic Club gains shaded daybed clusters and ocean-facing lounge seating, while The Roundabout has been refreshed in the ship’s signature plum. Grounds Club Too continues serving Intelligentsia Coffee by day before becoming a full bar from late afternoon.

The Manor’s raised platforms have been removed to open up the dance floor, and On the Rocks and The Dock have new stage setups to improve sightlines and outdoor performances.

On the retail side, TAG and Pandora join the onboard shop lineup, and the Virgin Voyages brand shop moves into a larger, more prominent space.

By early in the third quarter, sailors will find more than 20 new Happenings across the Red Room, The Manor, The Roundabout, The Perch, dining venues and late-night spaces. They range from big-stage moments such as game show Sink or Swim and sports-trivia challenge Sports Smarts, to late-night social concepts including Pay Attention, NICE BOX!, Dirty Laundry and Off the Record.

Food-and-drink experiences lean on the brand’s culinary credentials, including Extra Virgin: Aperitivo Club, Trust Your Tongue, Espresso Yourself and Sweet Aft Matcha.

Daytime and wellness options span Silent Sweat at The Perch, fitness session VHS Volume 2: The Great British Burn Off, and hands-on activities such as Sea-Cycle Studio, Knot Today and Hooked.

All 1,300-plus crew completed a “Virgin Way” culture refresh ahead of the relaunch.

Virgin Voyages CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu said the line set out to give returning cruisers a reason to come back.

“Valiant Lady was already one of the most compelling ships at sea, but we kept asking ourselves how to make her even more worth coming back for,” he said.

“The best transformations don’t come from smooth sailing but from listening, pushing further and creating something truly special.

“From Ariya to The Manor to a completely reimagined lineup of Happenings, Valiant Lady returns with a new energy our sailors will feel immediately.

“Every one of our 1,300+ crew has been through The Virgin Way, and that reignited culture is the linchpin to the service sailors keep coming back for.”

What it means for travel sellers

Virgin Voyages is an adults-only line, which makes it a fit for couples, solo travellers and groups of friends rather than families.

Its Brilliant For You program pays advisors, known as First Mates, 16 per cent commission with no non-commissionable fees, plus access to ship events and tours, the Seacademy self-paced training platform and the Seaciety community space.

The relaunch also lands as advisors can net one million Velocity Points through the line’s VoyageFair Grand Giveaway incentive for selling Virgin Voyages.
