Sydney-based B2B booking platform Room-Res has appointed Peter Jones as its new chief commercial officer and Kellie Smith to the newly created role of global head of supply and industry partnerships, effective 25 June 2026.
Jones joins Room-Res from Bedsonline, part of HBX Group, where he led commercial strategy and expanded the wholesaler’s footprint across major regional markets.
In the new role he will oversee Room-Res’ commercial account management team, drive strategic partnerships and accelerate the platform’s regional market expansion.
The ATIA-accredited platform, based at The Rocks in Sydney, lets travel advisors search hotels, transfers, attractions and car rentals, with a focus on agent-only rates and itinerary-building tools.

What the appointment means
Jones’ Bedsonline background sits squarely in the B2B accommodation space that Room-Res competes in, signalling continued investment in the platform’s advisor-facing offer.
“We are thrilled to welcome Peter to the Room-Res leadership team,” said Room-Res co-CEO Nic Bryant.
“Peter’s expertise in the B2B accommodation sector and his significant experience in the Asia Pacific region make him the perfect fit to lead our commercial strategy. His appointment marks an exciting chapter for Room-Res as we continue to scale our platform and deliver unparalleled value to our travel advisor partners.”
Jones said he was joining at a pivotal moment for the company.

“Room-Res has built an incredible reputation for empowering travel advisors with innovative booking technology that drives their success,” he remarked.
“I am incredibly excited to join the team at such a pivotal moment in the company’s growth trajectory and look forward to working closely with our partners to unlock new commercial opportunities.”
Second senior move
Meanwhile, Room-Res has appointed Kellie Smith to the position of global head of supply and industry partnerships.
Smith will build, expand and optimise the platform’s hotel and third-party supply relationships, while continuing to lead its work with the trade, tourism boards and representation companies.
“With the current growth in our agency partnerships and geographical footprint, there couldn’t be a more exciting time to be managing our relationships with hotels, third-party suppliers and trade partners,” Smith said.

James Mooring, co-CEO of Room-Res, a past NTIA nominee, said the two appointments reflected the company’s investment in industry talent.
“These appointments underscore Room-Res’ commitment to investing in top-tier industry talent to support our ambitious strategic growth plans and our dedication to the travel trade sector,” he stated.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this next stage in our evolution.”
KARRYON UNPACKS: Two senior hires in one breath signal a platform leaning hard into the advisor channel, with Jones’ Bedsonline pedigree pointing the commercial strategy at Asia Pacific growth. For sellers, both moves land in the part of the business that touches agent-only rates and supply deals every day.
