Popular Fiji resort achieves Pacific-first with professional childcare accreditation

VOMO Island Fiji has become the only resort in the Pacific region to have its childcare team complete Worldwide Kids' Tier I Professional Childcare Training and pass a full facilities audit.

VOMO Island Fiji has become the only resort in the Pacific region to have its childcare team complete Worldwide Kids’ Tier I Professional Childcare Training and pass a full facilities audit.

The luxury private-island resort, set between Fiji’s Yasawa and Mamanuca archipelagos, has had its full Kids’ Village team complete the internationally recognised qualification, delivered on island by Worldwide Kids training consultant Janine Ivemy.

The training covered child development, safety, engagement and delivering children’s experiences within a luxury hospitality setting.

Ivemy also conducted an audit of the Kids’ Village facilities, programs and operational procedures, confirming they meet international standards for resort childcare.

What the accreditation covers

Fiji is one of the top outbound destinations for Australian travellers, and family and multigenerational bookings are a core part of that demand.

The qualification gives travel advisors and sellers a tangible point of difference when placing families: a documented, internationally benchmarked childcare standard rather than a general kids’ club promise.

VOMO Island general manager Leon Pink said the milestone builds on the resort’s long-standing family focus.

“For many years, guests travelling to Fiji have experienced the beautiful and genuine care that the Fijian people hold for children,” Leon said.

“While our team has always been passionate about creating meaningful experiences in our Kids’ Village, this training further strengthens our commitment to delivering world-class childcare standards.

“The milestone ushers in a new standard for childcare in the Pacific and provides families with even greater confidence that their children are receiving exceptional care in a safe, engaging and nurturing environment while experiencing the warmth and culture that make Fiji so special.”

Ivemy said the warmth extended well beyond the Kids’ Village team.

“From the moment I arrived at VOMO Island, I noticed the genuine warmth and connection all staff have with children and families. It is not just the Kids’ Village team; staff across the resort take time to engage with children and make families feel welcome,” she said.

“The training has helped build the team’s confidence and understanding of best practice in childcare. The team has shown great enthusiasm and is now better equipped to deliver consistent and high-quality experiences for all children.”

VOMO Island, which recently reopened after a renovation, sits on 103 hectares of tropical landscape and caters to couples, families and multigenerational travellers seeking an exclusive South Pacific escape.

The resort is a 15-minute helicopter transfer or 40-minute boat trip from Nadi International Airport, with a collection of luxury villas and private residences plus access to neighbouring private island VOMO Lailai.

The complimentary Kids’ Village program offers age-appropriate activities, freeing parents to relax while children stay engaged.
