Phil Hoffman Travel’s World Travel Fest had a massive weekend, tempting attendees with inspiring ideas and dream holidays and welcoming 4,000 eager travellers and more than 50 premium exhibitors to the Adelaide Convention Centre on Sunday 26 June.

Hosted by the highly regarded local Adelady duo with a passionate PHT team of 100 travel advisors on hand, general manager Michelle Ashcroft said the free event exceeded all expectations and confirmed that travel is indeed back.

“People are ready to go, and whether it be this year or next or even beyond, and we ended the day on a high, knowing ‘travel is back’,” she said.

“We looked after our many loyal customers and were most happy to welcome many new customers to Phil Hoffman Travel, supporting our South Australia market share focus, and adding growth in a younger demographic as well.

More than 50 exhibitors shared updates at World Travel Fest.

“Our supplier partners were thrilled with the results with many deposits and bookings made on the day and many more to come.

“It was such a buzz to all be together in an expo environment again, for the first time in nearly three years, doing what we love most, which is working in partnership to connect people to the world.”

World Travel Fest saw PHT experts and supplier partners deliver packed presentations all day to thousands of customers who were eager to learn about travel in the post-pandemic world with the support, knowledge, experience and security of travelling with PHT.

“We are extremely positive about the future, with a few headwinds still to face mainly in the supply chain, which is choking the speed of recovery, with demand far exceeding the supply we have.”

Ms Ashcroft was also thrilled with the news that Qatar Airways is increasing its Adelaide-Doha service to five flights per week from 1 July, which she said is a much-needed addition.

“We now face highly reduced airline commissions, which we must recoup, with a strong direction to support airlines that continue to value the service of the agent by maintaining current commission levels,” she said.

“Our other continued focus is on recruiting and training new consultants to meet the level of demand and we were thrilled to welcome 12 new recruits on their first day at World Travel Fest.

“It is an extremely exciting time as we rebuild a passionate and driven team and rock-solid supplier partner relationships with strong strategic direction to offer travellers the best the world has to offer.”
