Sixty Travel Agents, 13 destinations, six itineraries and one EPIC adventure – that’s the summary of what many are claiming to be the ‘Best Mega-Fam Ever’ through the USA.
Some 30 Travel Agents from Australia and 30 from New Zealand recently returned from the USA with enthusiasm and an overwhelming desire to fly back across the Pacific almost immediately after completing Brand USA and Air New Zealand’s seven-night music-themed fam-trip.
As the largest trade fam to depart Australia and New Zealand for the US, the 60 consultants were split into teams of 10 and sent off on one of six itineraries.
The first group went ‘Rocking the Pacific North West’ in Washington and Oregon…
The second heard the ‘Soul Sounds of the South’ in Louisiana and Mississippi…
The third ‘Danced through the Midwest’ in Illinois and Michigan (did ya bump into Eminem guys?)…
The fourth felt those ‘Neighbourhood Vibes’ in California and Arizona…
The fifth sang ‘Folk Songs from the Last Frontier’ in Fairbanks and Anchorage…
While the sixth group heard ‘Native American Sounds’ in Montana and North Dakota…
After their wild solo adventures, the entire group met up in the world’s entertainment capital, Las Vegas, for two days of helicopter flights over The Strip, Cirque du Soleil, TopGolf, shopping at the South Premium Outlets, Havana Room parties and more.
Brand USA’s Australia & New Zealand Director, Matt Fletcher, said the fam gave Agents the chance to see the diversity within the USA and recognise “how special the country is”.
“Between the groups, we covered many regions of the U.S., with landscapes and itinerary activities varying greatly.”

Destination partners that helped put the epic trip together included: Visit Seattle, Travel Oregon, Travel Portland, Visit Anchorage, Visit Fairbanks, Louisiana Office of Tourism, New Orleans & Company, St. Tammany Parish Tourist & Convention Commission, Visit Mississippi, Jackson Convention & Visitors Bureau, North Dakota State Tourism, Montana State Tourism, San Diego Tourism Authority, Arizona Office of Tourism, Illinois Office of Tourism, Choose Chicago, Michigan State Tourism, Detroit Convention & Visitors Bureau, Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority and Travel Nevada.
Rafael Villanueva, Senior Director of International Sales – Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority said the trip provided an opportunity for consultants to experience the latest entertainment in the city.
Air New Zealand’s Regional General Manager Australia, Kathryn Robertson, added that Agents were able to first-hand why the carrier’s daily flights from Australia to four US ports via Auckland (Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco) were the ‘better way to fly’.
