The announcement comes shortly after the Revolution Roadshow in Australia where Chimu Adventures had teased Travel Agents with the news that it was working with a special guest for an upcoming charity cruise. But of course, the tour operator refused to say who.
Now we know!
Kurt Fearnley will join Chimu Adventures ‘Antarctica Empowered‘ departing from Ushuaia in Argentina on the 21 February 2020, from which a portion of the berth sales will be donated to Chimu’s MAD project and used towards education programmes for people with disabilities living in marginalised areas.
Throughout the 11-day cruise, travellers will encounter Antarctica’s natural beauty from glaciers to icebergs, whales, penguins and seabirds, while also hearing from Fearnley about his extraordinary life and fundraising events.
Chimu Adventures described the sailing as perfect for holidaymakers who have a desire to travel with a purpose while experiencing Antarctica, and for those who want to live for today while giving to the future.
“My education instilled in me the value of expectation. Expectation which I treasure to this day,” he said. When travelling internationally, I’ve seen life without expectation and without education, and that can be more disabling than any disability.”
