Leading Hotels of the World has rebooted its Leading Famils program for Australian and New Zealand partners with a bellissimo agent trip to Northern Italy in November, which will be followed by a Switzerland famil later this month.

Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) APAC Managing Director Craig Adamson led the first international trip after three years, hosting six luxury travel advisors from LHW’s loyalty program VITA in Milan, Lake Como, Venice, Florence and the Tuscan countryside.

The group was treated to hosted meals and visited local sites and participated in immersive experiences for a greater understanding of each destination.

The fam group met at Grand Hotel et de Milan and had a sneak peek at the Portrait Milano property before moving to Lake Como to stay at the iconic Villa d’Este and visit Il Serene Lago di Como.

In Venice, advisors stayed at San Clemente Palace Kempinski and visited Baglioni Hotel Luna.

The group then bedded down in the refurbed Hotel Helvetia & Bristol while also taking in Portrait Firenze and Villa La Massa in Florence. The Northern Italy fam ended at Castel Monastero in the Tuscan Hills.

“With 68 Leading Hotels in Italy, it is an important destination for us,” Mr Adamson said. “The Australian love affair with Italy is definitely back and we have seen a remarkable return of leisure travellers to Italy.

“More than 50 per cent of our Australian and New Zealand business into Europe this year has been into Italy and investing in travel advisors’ knowledge is critically important to us at LHW.”
