FCTG Independent NZ staged its inaugural conference in Flight Centre Travel Group’s global headquarters of Brisbane recently, welcoming more than 180 home-based agents and suppliers for four days of networking and inspiration.
Running from 17 – 20 August 2023 at The Westin Brisbane, the FCTG Independent NZ conference theme was ‘SOAR: Don’t just fly…Soar’, arming travel entrepreneurs with the essential elements required to thrive in today’s travel landscape.
All about the event
The event included FCTG Independent delegates from Travel Managers Group, Travelsmart, Flight Centre Independent and Travel Associates at Home.
Home-based agents enjoyed a welcome function, gala dinner and awards evening along with a supplier showcase throughout the conference.
Guest speakers included FCTG’s Leisure CEO James Kavanagh and Global Supply CEO Greg Parker with keynote speaker consumer futurist Amanda Stevens.
FCTG’s Global MD Independent & Luxury Danielle Galloway, Global Director of Operations Independent Astrid Richardson and Chief Technology Officer Independent Wendie Lee also addressed attendees.

FCTG Independent NZ GM Jason Buckley said the brand thrives on the entrepreneurial spirit.
“Throughout the conference and awards event, our travel entrepreneurs were inspired, informed and celebrated all their achievements,” he said.
