Why Vanuatu?

Besides the obvious “why not”, why Vanuatu? Because it’s a lush eco-friendly country where pristine beauty still exists. Pure white-sand beaches, verdant tropical forests, adventures to a live volcano, and wow-worthy wildlife experiences await. And if your clients are scuba divers, book their Air Vanuatu tickets pronto; it’s up there as one of the best diving locations in the world!

The locals’ broad smiles and easy laughs make every visitor feel like they are reuniting with old friends more than new strangers. The depth and warmth felt is not only inviting, it instils a sense of safety, too. It feels like every visitor is joining Vanuatu’s one big family (and it’s pretty big: the population is 300,000+).

Vanuatu impresses with its yummy cuisine, too. Dining on delectable locally grown food connects back to the land and reminds you of the flavours you can eke out of fresh produce. Like coconut fish curry (nom), poulet fish (nom nom), and laplap (nom nom nom).

Did you know that Vanuatu exports their coconut, kava, cocoa and more around the globe these days? We prefer taste-testing it fresh in Vanuatu, however. Preferably under a swaying palm tree with sunset beach vibes to enhance every bite.

Flying Air Vanuatu

Fly Brisbane Airport to Port Vila in under three hours

Despite the Brisbane to Port Vila flight being so short, Air Vanuatu still manages to squeeze in a snack and a soft drink. This is a temporary measure until they resume their full-service offerings.

Your clients will also enjoy free Wi-Fi, so they can enjoy exactly the in-flight entertainment they want, direct to their personal devices. Air Vanuatu offer films, TV shows, radio stations, and unique Vanuatu documentaries to tempt and tease on the way over. Remind your clients to download the Air Vanuatu Entertainment app before take-off.

Flying Air Vanuatu means the vacay starts at BNE. Once aboard, every passenger is quickly immersed in the Vanu-vibes. That’s our code for the electric energy that everyone in Vanuatu (the Air Vanuatu crew included) possesses, ensuring that spirits are high, a sense of ease is flowing, and the island feels kick-in before take-off!

BNE: Better Connected

Vanuatu’s magical Tanna Blue Cave

The return of the BNE-VLI route earlier this year had Queenslanders jumping out of their seats with joy. Not only because – hurrah – they can jet off to the tropics three times a week, but also because it’s direct out of award-winning Brisbane Airport!

There are so many reasons BNE is worthy of its 5th Skytrax Australia/Pacific Airport of the Year award (and 4th Best Airport Staff!). The ease of travel, the fast transit times between domestic and international terminals, the attentive airport crew, the facilities… we could go on!

Follow check-in, security, and chill time at BNE’s cafes, restaurants, and shops with an effortless flight to Vanuatu, and you can see why this is a winning combo!

It’s an exciting time for the BNE Air Vanuatu team, with Donna Downs, the previous Airport Services Manager (and local legend), handing over the reins to Lisa Yarde. Donna spent 10 years with Air Vanuatu and over 22 years with BNE airport as her main base. And that’s after starting her career in aviation with Ansett International in 1979. What did we tell you? She’s a legend! And she only has praise for her time and connection to the islands of Vanuatu.

Donna said, “There is so much to see and do in Vanuatu. It’s the most warming place I’ve ever been. The people are amazing, and the children have the best time.”

In her role as the new Airport Services Manager, Lisa Yarde is excited about her future with Air Vanuatu, and the future and growth the airline is planning. She commented, “I’m excited about seeing families travelling and seeing the love that is shared among the crew.”
