Globus family of brands (GFOB) has bid adieu to Head of Sales Peter Douglas, effective yesterday, 25 May.

Gai Tyrrell, GFOB’s Managing Director of Asia Pacific, commended Douglas’ nine-year service and his impactful contribution.

Gai called Douglas’ contributions to the Globus family of brands’ leadership team “highly valued and instrumental”.

“We have so much to thank him for.”

“He’s worked hard to define our position in the marketplace, navigated the challenges we faced throughout the pandemic and has led a strong sales team, driving the recovery of our business.

“As a high-profile champion of our brands, Peter will be missed by our team and industry partners, and we wish him the very best for the next challenge he takes on.”

Despite his many years in travel, Douglas’ was never meant to be in the industry. In fact, he studied to be a teacher.

“Once I graduated with a teaching degree at Uni, I spent the next year and a half travelling and never came back to teaching,” Peter told Karryon

“I was bitten.”

“My grandfather was a great traveller, and his stories inspired me to see the world.”

Karryon is still waiting to find out Peter’s next move. We’ll keep you posted.

Globus recently celebrated its 95th birthday. The company that started from a rowboat ride on Switzerland’s Lake Lugano now has a portfolio of brands spanning independent, touring and cruising holidays across the world’s roads, rivers and railways in 70 countries.
