Movers + Shakers: Peter Douglas joins Helloworld as National Sales Manager

Travel industry veteran Peter Douglas has joined Helloworld as the company’s new National Sales Manager.

Travel industry veteran Peter Douglas has joined Helloworld as the company’s new National Sales Manager.

Driving business development for the travel agency giant, Douglas takes the reins from Steve Brady, who last month moved to the position of Group General Manager Cruise at Helloworld.

Douglas brings a wealth of travel industry experience to the position, including more than 15 years with Emirates and Garuda Indonesia and most recently as Head of Sales at Globus family of brands Australasia (GFOB), where he plied his trade for nearly nine years.

“I am very excited to join the Helloworld team,” he told Karryon.

“It will be especially great to see so many of the agents, partners and my new colleagues over the next few days at Frontliners on the Gold Coast.

“It’s fantastic to be joining a brand with such an amazing suite of products and one that will be celebrating 50 years next year.”

Helloworld Travel Limited Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director Cinzia Burnes echoed Douglas’ excitement for the move.

“We are delighted to welcome Peter Douglas to the Helloworld family in the role of National Sales Manager for our wholesale division comprising [NTIA 2023 Winner] VIVA Holidays and ReadyRooms,” she told Karryon.

“With Steve Brady moving on as Head of Cruise at Helloworld, we know that Peter is the right person to continue to lead our incredible team of passionate and enthusiastic sales executives and provide excellent service to agents.”

In August, HLO released its full-year financial results for 2022/23, reporting an underlying (EBITDA) profit of $44.1 million, which represented a $54.7 million turnaround in fortune.

Karryon recently went behind the scenes at the opening of the group’s latest store in Stanhope Gardens.
