Based in Sydney, Mulville announced his new role via LinkedIn, saying he is excited to be back in the airline industry and is “looking forward to doing big things in 2025”.

He will helm EY’s Australian and New Zealand team during a significant time for the airline.

Etihad and Virgin Australia will dissolve their codeshare and loyalty agreement in June 2025, following the VA-Qatar Airways partnership news.

In a strategic move, EY plans to increase its Sydney and Melbourne services next year and is fast-tracking Etihad Guest Gold Status for eligible Australian travellers to woo and strengthen the local loyalty base, which it said is a key market for the carrier.
