FCTG Independent has appointed Michelle Droguett to the position of Partnerships & Events Executive.

Droguett brings over 15 years of experience in corporate event management to her new role, most recently plying her trade as a Business Leader at cievents (now FCM Meetings & Events), where she spent 11 years. 

During her time at cievents, Droguett managed a diverse portfolio of over 100 events, including coordinating three Global Gatherings held in Singapore, Cancun, and Macau from 2012 to 2014. 

According to FCTG Independent, these events were known for their innovation, creativity and positive impact on attendees.

The appointment represents a big step for the company as it works on strengthening its event and partnership strategies and creating more connections. 

In recent years, this part of the Flight Centre Travel Group has seen significant growth in both the number of agencies and the total value of transactions (TTV). 

The group says it is also investing heavily in tools and resources for its network of independent agents worldwide.

FCTG Independent Australia includes Travel Partners, Travel Associates at Home, Travel Associates franchise and Flight Centre Independent Advisors. 

The business operates globally, with more than 1,700 independent agencies in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada, and South Africa.

Earlier this month, FCTG Independent announced it would hold its first-ever global conference in Santiago, Chile.

The group also boosted its sales team in October with the addition of Mark Robertson as its newest NSW Business Development Partner.
