Journey Beyond has onboarded four experienced sales executives, including its first in-market NZ position, and promoted Renee Cornelissen into a new leadership role to drive the company’s continued global expansion plans.
Led by Executive General Manager – Sales and Partnerships Alicia Triggs, these appointments mark an exciting growth period for Journey Beyond with in-market representation in NZ, China and Japan.
As part of this growth and after 21 years with the company, Renee Cornelissen has returned to her international roots, taking on the newly created leadership role of Group Manager – International Sales.
Thomas Gentz joins as Business Development Manager – New Zealand, bringing extensive senior travel management experience in New Zealand, including Air New Zealand, Back-Roads Touring, Travel Advocates and most recently, at Hurtigruten & HX.
Newly appointed Group Manager – National Sales Cara Toovey also has more than 21 years’ industry experience, including nine years at Intrepid Travel leading the BDM team in SA, NSW and WA as well as an Experienced Product Specialist for South Australia with RAA Travel.
Josh Basir also joins the international sales team as Business Development Manager – ITOs & the Americas from his previous role as ANZ National Sales Manager – Leisure & Wholesale at Minor Hotels.
Also with a hospitality background, Leia Marras has been promoted to the new role of Business Development Coordinator and joins the industry sales team with extensive knowledge across all Journey Beyond brands and experiences from her two years at the Travel Centre.
These new positions will drive greater awareness of Journey Beyond, which will include more new positions, including in-market presence in China and Japan as well as travel partner support.
