1. Trafalgar strengthens sales force

Trafalgar has strengthened its sales force in Victoria and Western Australia with the appointment of Sheena Smith and Donna Jones as Industry Sales Executive, Victoria and Sales Manager, Western Australia, respectively.

Recruited internally from The Travel Corporation, Sheena joins Trafalgar following more than eight years’ experience within the travel industry, having previously held positions with youth market leader, Contiki, as well as Flight Centre Group.

Donna, who has taken on the maternity leave position of Sales Manager, WA, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience spanning more than 15 years within the tourism industry.

Donna’s previous roles included Senior Travel Consultant for Travel Focus and Flight Centre, as well as four years working with P&O Nedlloyd in their Peru, Chile and Netherlands offices.

2. IHG grows its culinary team

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has added two new star chefs to its growing IHG Culinary Panel; an initiative that sees renowned chefs develop an array of signature dishes for guests dining in IHG’s hotels across Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA).

The latest Culinary Ambassadors will introduce a range of signature dishes that IHG guests can enjoy.

Chef Vikas Khanna’s restraurant, Junoon in New York City, has been awarded with a coveted Michelin star for four years in a row and serves a range of authentic and inventive fine dining Indian recipes.

Chef Takagi Kazuo is famed for his two Michelin star restaurant in Osaka and will supply seasonal Kyo-style Japanese cuisine to the programme.

The seven IHG Culinary Ambassadors on the panel are all award-winning chefs and represent a diverse range of cuisines such as Indian by Vikas Khanna; Japanese by Takagi Kazuo; Italian by Theo Randall; Thai by Ian Kittichai; Chinese by Sam Leong; Modern Australian by Ross Lusted; and Bakery and Pastry by Dean Brettschneider.

 

3. On the Hunt for a new MD at Adventure World

Adventure World Fiona Hunt

Adventure World MD Fiona Hunt has announced her departure from The Travel Corporation (TTC) after four years with the company.

Hunt’s departure comes as she and her family relocate to the UK.

She said the decision to leave comes with ‘much sadness’.
