AAT Kings has announced three newly appointed roles, welcoming Jody Grossfeldt, Ben Allen and John Gornall back to the business after time spent pursuing different endeavours within travel and other sectors.

Jody Grossfeldt was named General Manager of Operations & Experiences, Ben Allen was appointed AAT Kings Group Sales Manager ITO/OTA and John Gornall returns as Northern Territory General Manager.

Ms Grossfeldt previously held multiple roles with AAT Kings, including Head of Day Tours and Head of Guest Experiences, from 2012 to 2021 before departing to work at Transport NSW.

Her new role as GM of Operations & Experiences includes improving the guest travel experience for guests and new product opportunities.

“It’s a privilege to return to the AAT Kings Group, leading my talented team and supporting them to make every single tour an extraordinary one,” Ms Grossfeldt said.

Mr Allen started in AAT Kings sales in Brisbane in 2004, working his way up to National Sales Manager. Since then he has worked in the OTA/travel tech space with the likes of Amadeus, Hotelbeds, Expedia Group and Stuba.

In his new role, he will look after global relationships with OTA and inbound partners, take on the sales leadership role for SEIT Outback Adventures and assist Down Under Tours.

“I am excited to start building on this great business to help achieve mutual goals with our valued partners. We have some exciting years ahead and I’m eager to get started,” Mr Allen said.

As Northern Territory GM, Mr Gornall will lead the team to improve efficiencies and oversee the recruitment of new Driver Guides and Travel Directors.

Before departing in 2019, he held multiple roles with the business, including Northern Territory Manager, Top End Manager, Operations Manager (Darwin) and Senior Operations Supervisor.

He is excited to return and take his extensive experience in tourism products to the next level.

“I could not be more eager to be welcomed back and kick off by ensuring each guest has their best travel experience yet when embarking on an AAT Kings tour in the NT,” Mr Gornall said.

Announcing the three new appointments, AAT Kings CEO Ben Hall said: “There is nothing better than having valued staff return to the AAT Kings business further down their career path, re-joining the company and bringing the wisdom and knowledge their other endeavours have given them.”

AAT Kings bid farewell to Founder and industry legend Bill King last year.
