Visit USA Australia has appointed Aida Osta to the organisation after a competitive RFP process that will see her take on the Secretariat and Events Manager role via her company, Detoured, a Melbourne-based tourism consultancy.
Ms Osta joins Visit USA Australia with more than 25 years of tourism industry experience under her belt, spanning multiple sectors across the global tourism economy.
As well as being the Founder and Director of Detoured, Ms Osta has also held roles with Visit California, Travel Counsellors, Helloworld and Qantas Holidays.
“I am delighted to be working with Visit USA Australia to re-establish the strong relationship between Australian travellers and the US,” Ms Osta said.
“The US has long been the number-one long-haul destination for Australian travellers and we are committed to working with the industry to return to these numbers once more.”
Visit USA Australia President Caroline Davidson said: “We are thrilled to have Aida on board and look forward to working together closely to grow Visit USA Australia’s presence and impact in the market.”
The organisation has also welcomed Chris Watson of Chris Watson Travel to the Visit USA Australia Committee and the news comes after the successful run of the Visit USA Expo Series in August 2022.
