Australian independent travel franchise and mobile travel agent network itravel has appointed Joe Karbo as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Mr Karbo brings more than 20 years’ experience in the travel and tourism industries to the itravel role.
His previous positions include Group CEO of Wendy Wu Tours and Chief Operating Officer for the Moresand Group travel agency in the UK.
His most recent role was as CEO at Greece & Mediterranean Travel Centre and Luxury Greece Collection in Sydney, which he joined in January 2023.
itravel CEO Steve Labroski said the group has experienced several years of exponential growth and requires a shift to take the business to the next level.
“Joe has all the credentials to drive our business in the right direction and create sustainable long-term growth for the itravel group,” Mr Labroski said.
Mr Karbo said: “itravel has always been a company that I’ve admired and to be part of their journey for the next chapters is very exciting.”
“There are a lot of interesting projects on the go, so it’s great to be joining the business now, supporting Steve and the itravel network.”
The company recently added Cherie Bowman as Head of Product and Head of the group’s new luxury division, LUXE by travel.
