Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a Travel Agent! That’s right folks, it’s time to get our superhero action on today with another instalment of Travel Agent to the Rescue.

This week we hear how Jennie from helloworld Stockland Nowra (no, not Jenny from the block – wrong one) saved the day for one of her clients by going above and beyond the call of duty.

Take it away Jennie!

A client contacted me from the airport one day very distressed as she had left her passport at home on the south coast of NSW, 2 ½ hours away.

As she lived on her own, the house was securely locked, and with her flight leaving in four hour’s time, she didn’t have time to drive home and get it.

After calmly asking her questions about spare keys etc., I worked out that her real estate agent had a key, so I rang him and explained the situation.

He collected the passport from her house and dropped it into our office while I arranged for one of the local airport shuttles to call into the office on their way to the airport.

The passport was delivered to our office two minutes before the shuttle driver arrived to take it to the airport where I had arranged for my client to be waiting on the kerbside for him.

I had also spoken with Air New Zealand and they said as long as she had the passport 45 minutes prior to departure they would ensure she made the flight.

Three hours later, and 60 minutes before her flight, a very relieved client rang to say she was holding her passport in her hand and being assisted through customs and immigration to ensure she was at the gate in time.

It was a combined effort by many to make this happen, but without a travel agent my client probably would have had to stay at home.

Well done Jennie!

Jennie’s effort in helping her client in her time of need is quite remarkable. How many agents do you know would go so far beyond the call of duty to make sure their client got on their flight to begin their holiday?

Not many, if any.

And for this we think Jennie deserves a BIG round of applause!
