Travellers Choice member Glenn Box from Mudgee Travel and Cruise has been a super busy guy this year, pouring his heart into supporting drought affected farmers as one of the founders of the 200BALES charity.
200BALES gives people and businesses the opportunity to give a bale of hay to one of the farmers in their local area who is struggling during the drought.
People pledge $200 or increments of $200, then the group attaches the donors’ name to the individual bales on the truck when they’re sent out.
The concept took off and 200BALES has been a powerhouse for supporting farmers in the mid-west.
Travellers Choice likes to have charitable element to their conference each year and said as they already knew about Glenn’s incredible work it was “no brainer” to bring his charity on board.
Travellers choice suppliers very generously donated MASSIVE prizes towards a members raffle at their conference in Cairns over the weekend.

The Africa Safari Co donated a 7-night Southern African safari including return Economy airfares on South African Airways for two people, U by Uniworld donated a 7-night European cruise for two while Adventure World gave away a 15 day “Cuba Libre” small group journey.

In the space of a weekend Travellers Choice members raised a whoppping $12,000 for drought affected farmers with the help of a $2000 donation from Scenic and a $500 donation from Swagman Tours.
Glenn Box explained that these bales of hay provide farmers with the strength to keep going until it rains and some feed starts to appear on the ground.
