Game of Thrones fans are about to have their fantasies come to life thanks to news that key Game Of Thrones sets in Northern Ireland are being transformed into tourist attractions.

HBO said these Game of Thrones Legacy attractions will be “on a scale and scope bigger than anything the public has ever seen”.

As soon as next year (if all goes to plan), fans will be able to wander through the Winterfell, Kings Landing and the Night’s Watch enclave Castle Black.

Game of Thrones lovers will be able to take a close-up look at props, costumes, weaponry, and key production materials.

There will also be a studio tour of Linen Mill Studios, which is expected to feature interactive exhibitions about the visual effects used on the show.

John McGrillen from Tourism Northern Ireland said he was confident that the project would become a global attraction.

“While fans have seen the stunning landscapes, coastlines and mountains in the series, we are thrilled they will now have the opportunity to fully experience the charm of Northern Ireland and immerse themselves into the world of Westeros.”

Game of Thrones is not only HBO’s most-watched show on record, but it has also been the catalyst for transforming Northern Ireland into a screen tourism destination.
