Is Canada calling? The #ArrivalRevival is real, with Air Canada announcing its Sydney to Vancouver flights will resume from 17 December 2021. Plus, guests will now be able to earn points with Virgin Australia’s Velocity program.
Following the Government of Canada’s announcement to reopen international borders on September 7, Air Canada says it’s pleased to unveil additional details of its planned Sydney (SYD) – Vancouver (YVR) schedule – on sale now.
The loosening of restrictions enables foreign nationals to fly to Canada who have been fully vaccinated with the Government of Canada-accepted vaccines (Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and J&J) at least 14 days prior to departure and who meet specific entry requirements to enter Canada for non-essential travel.

With Australians eager to travel again to Canada, we are ready to reunite customers with their families and friends,” said Vic Naughton, General Manager, Australia and New Zealand at Air Canada.

Air Canada is offering four flights per week on a 300-seat B777-200LR featuring a choice of three cabins of service: Air Canada Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy class.
Air Canada has also partnered with Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer loyalty program, which allows Virgin Australia’s eight million Velocity Frequent Flyer loyalty program members to earn Velocity Points and Status Credits and redeem on eligible flights with Air Canada between Australia and Vancouver and beyond.
To earn Velocity Points with Air Canada, members simply need to enter their Velocity Frequent Flyer number when booking their flight directly at aircanada.com.
To allow customers to book with confidence, Air Canada says its new refund policy is applicable to all tickets purchased.
The airline says it offers customers the option of a full refund to the original form of payment, an Air Canada Travel Voucher or the equivalent value in Aeroplan Points with a 65% bonus should the airline cancel or reschedule a flight by more than three hours.
Air Canada urges all customers to visit its Travel Ready Hub or IATA’s Timatic website for the latest government entry requirements.
Guests are responsible for ensuring they meet all government entry requirements, including holding the correct travel documents, visas, any required health certificates, and all other eligibility requirements for any flights they purchase.
