1) New flights
Come December, Queenslanders will be sitting pretty if they’re considering a trip to the US thanks to the airline launching its first nonstop service, between Brisbane and Los Angeles on Friday 6 December 2024.
This seasonal service will operate three times per week until late March 2025. It is the first direct service since the launch of Sydney to LA flights in 2009.
The move opens the door for more Aussies who want to indulge in the glamorous allure of Hollywood, or take advantage of more than 40 one-stop connections to popular US cities like Seattle, Miami, or New York City.
2) Premium onboard service
Personal seat-back entertainment screens with premium content and in-seat power outlets for devices sound like your kind of way to fly? Not only can you expect all of that, but there are also plans for a fresh new look across the cabin design.
Fast and free Wi-Fi for all US domestic flights is also expected to be available by the end of 2024, so you can be the envy of your friends by snapping a pic from your window seat and sending it straight to them, or simply catch up on your emails.
And the airline’s team of chefs create a regularly refreshed and seasonally inspired onboard menu. Using the Fly Delta app, Delta One guests can pre-order their meals, starting seven days before the departure of their flight.
3) Premium cabins
The Delta One suite has a lie-back, 180-degree flat-bed seat, full-height doors and privacy dividers between centre suites.
There’s also sustainable bedding made from 100 percent recycled plastic bottles. Each seat includes an oversized duvet, large sleeping pillow and a lumbar pillow that doubles as a mattress pad. And there’s a Missoni amenity kit featuring Grown Alchemist skincare products and other travel essentials.
Delta Premium Select passengers also enjoy a wider seat with a deeper recline and an adjustable footrest and leg rest, an artisan-made premium amenity kit filled with travel essentials and lip balm from Grown Alchemist, and a memory foam pillow and plush blanket made from recycled materials.

4) Elevated journey on the ground
Delta Sky Way at LAX project was completed in August 2023. The US$2.3 billion project consolidated Terminals 2 and 3 into a 1.2-million-square-foot, state-of-the-art, 27-gate complex.
The move has created a premium customer experience at LAX, including an exclusive Delta One check-in area, lounge and one of the largest sky clubs.
The check-in area, on the lower arrivals level of Terminal 3, also offers a private TSA screening lane and direct access to the lounge and sky club.
Delta One customers can also expect to be greeted by a team of ‘Elite Service’ agents dedicated to providing white-glove service. While the Delta One Lounge at LAX means guests get world-class dining and indulgent wellness experiences, and are directly connected to the check-in area.
Meanwhile, Delta Sky Club at LAX is a year-round, all-weather terrace where guests can enjoy drinks from the premium bar and panoramic views of downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills.
5) Growth plans
Come December, Delta is flying its largest-ever domestic ski schedule, including more flights from Los Angeles.
The airline’s ski schedule out of LAX this (northern hemisphere) winter will boast a 25 per cent increase in seat capacity.
In addition to offering daily flights to Jackson Hole and year-round Aspen service, the airline is also bringing back daily flights to Bozeman (BZN) and Vail (EGE) and a new Saturday service to the stunning Sun Valley.
