Emirates walked away from the weekend’s AFTA National Travel Industry Awards a winner for the third consecutive year.
The airline received the title ‘Best International Airline (Online) at the NTIA Gala Dinner in Sydney on Saturday.
The prestigious award was presented to Rob Gurney, Emirates Divisional Vice President Australasia, in front of over 1,200 guests.
Gurney said the company was honored to be recognised by the country peak travel industry body.
“With around 80 percent of our revenue in Australia derived from our travel industry partners, Emirates is committed to working with and supporting the travel trade and this award acknowledges our continued work to offer the very best product to our travel trade partners, without whom, none of this would be possible.”

At the industry’s night of nights Mr Gurney also announced the winner of the Emirates Travel Consultant Scholarship, which recognises a consultant with the potential to grow and lead within the travel trade, who has less than three years’ experience in the industry.
As Gold Sponsor of the award, Emirates announced Jamie-Lee Holloway of helloworld Kotara in New South Wales as the second winner of the Emirates Scholarship following the inaugural award last year.
Jamie-Lee has been awarded up to $10,000 towards her travel education; as well as a Business Class trip for two to Dubai to explore the city and meet with key Emirates leaders. To top it off, she will receive a money-can’t-buy invite to the famous Emirates Melbourne Cup marquee at Victoria’s Spring Racing Carnival.
The other four finalists included Breeanna Perez of Globenet Travel in Queensland, Emily Dickson of helloworld Corio in Victoria, Fiona Peck of helloworld South Melbourne in Victoria, and Kerri-Anne Kasprzycki of helloworld Winston Hills in New South Wales.
