Get ready for a new adventure… and a new way to fly to the US. As foreshadowed in July, Fiji Airways has announced it is taking off to Texas, unveiling new nonstop flights between Nadi and Dallas-Fort Worth.
Commencing on 10 December 2024, the new 13-hour flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Using its A350-900 XWB, Fiji Airways’ service will feature 301 economy seats and 33 lie-flat business class seats.
With the new route, the Fijian national airline will fly to five North American destinations: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Vancouver and Dallas.
Its 24th international route, the new service also marks the first time Fiji has been directly linked with North America beyond the west coast, opening up a new host of possibilities for two-way tourism.

“Introducing a direct service between Fiji and Dallas is a really exciting milestone for Fiji Airways, as we continue to increase Fiji’s connectivity with the United States and beyond, offering our guests more travel options,” Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director Andre Viljoen said.
“Travellers to and from Dallas will experience our award-winning service and warm Fijian hospitality in the comfort of our modern A350 aircraft with lie-flat business class seats and generous space in economy.”
Fijian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics, Hon Professor Biman Prasad called the new route “an exciting development for Fiji” and one which will “help pave the way for expanded opportunities in tourism and trade between our two nations”.

“Fiji Airways’ new direct route to Dallas is Dallas has immense potential as a new source market for Fiji’s tourism industry, with DFW International Airport currently ranked the third-busiest airport in the world and the state of Texas home to some of the fastest-growing counties in the United States,” he added.
Subject to US Government regulatory approvals, the new route is just part of Fiji Airways’ ambitious plans. They’re also joining American Airlines’ AAdvantage loyalty program next year and becoming the 15th full member of the oneworld alliance in 2025. So soon, flyers will be able to fully earn and use frequent flyer miles with Fiji Airways, American Airlines and other oneworld partners.

To mark the launch of the Dallas service, Fiji Airways is offering special fares from Australia and New Zealand to Dallas, starting at AU$1,599 and NZ$1,199.
In a recent interview, Viljoen also teased the prospect of flying to two new ports on Australia’s east coast, giving even more Aussies direct access to Fiji’s golden shores.
At the World Airline Awards, Fiji Airways placed above aviation giants like Etihad, Lufthansa, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, climbing to 14th place in the world’s top airline category. By doing so, it also finished as the Australia and Pacific region’s favourite carrier.
FJ soared to new heights in 2023, carrying a staggering 2.1 million passengers and marking an impressive 57 per cent lift from 2022.
