Australians can connect to seamless and speedy Starlink Wi-Fi for free on popular international routes when Singapore Airlines rolls out unlimited inflight Wi-Fi access across its long-haul fleet from 2027.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will onboard Starlink’s low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite-based broadband service progressively across its Airbus A350-900, A350-900 ULR and A380 aircraft from the first quarter of 2027 until completion in 2029.

This includes the carrier’s flights from Melbourne and Sydney on its A350-900s and A380s. Passengers in all cabin classes will enjoy faster, smoother and seamless gate-to-gate connectivity for streaming, social media, gaming and sending large files.

Those travelling in Suites, First Class and Business Class, plus PPS Club members, and KrisFlyer members travelling in Premium Economy Class and Economy Class, can access unlimited, free Wi-Fi on board Starlink-enabled aircraft.

SIA is the first major Asian carrier to sign up and follows 31 other airlines that offer the SpaceX tech, including Lufthansa, Air New Zealand, Qatar Airways, Alaska Airlines, Emirates and United Airlines.

SIA Senior Vice President Customer Experience Yeoh Phee Teik said today’s travellers see fast, seamless connectivity as an essential part of the travel experience.

“Singapore Airlines already offers the world’s most comprehensive complimentary inflight Wi-Fi across our entire fleet. Starlink will take this to the next level by delivering next-generation high-speed connectivity, enabling customers to stay entertained, connected, and productive throughout their journey, with a smoother and seamless experience from take-off to landing,” he said.
