Qatar Airways may have lost the ‘World’s Best Airline’ crown to Singapore Airlines but it’s still the ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’ with the ‘Best First Class Airline Lounge’ and the ‘World’s Best Business Class’.

The carrier celebrated four major wins this week at the 2018 Skytrax Awards including the highly coveted award for ‘World’s Best Business Class’ – the revolutionary Qsuite featuring private seats that come together to form double beds and four-way meeting tables.

It’s the sixth year in total the airline has won the award including the last three consecutive years.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, welcomed the four wins, saying they demonstrate how far the airline has come in 20 years, despite barriers such as the ongoing blockade enforced by surrounding Middle Eastern cities and countries.

“To have been awarded such accolades… is a reflection of our commitment to excellence, innovation and to providing all passengers the finest service in the skies.”

“The fact that the Skytrax awards are voted for by travellers makes them especially meaningful and reconfirms that our passenger-focused strategy continues to deliver the highest level of satisfaction to our loyal customers.”

For those unfamiliar with the award-winning Qsuite, it’s a Business Class offering a First Class experience with beds that can transform into double beds, private rooms for two or a four-way dining table/conference table.
