Bonza launches booking website after flyers tell them they need more than an app

After customer feedback, low-cost carrier Bonza has launched a new website that allows flyers to make bookings.

After customer feedback, low-cost carrier Bonza has launched a new website that allows flyers to make bookings.

Starting today, travellers can use the new website to book flights and Bonza Holiday packages, which include flights, baggage, accommodation and the option to add travel insurance, car hire or airport transfers.

Prior to the new website, Bonza customers could only book flights on the carrier’s app. The first airline globally to prioritise app bookings, the airline says its Fly Bonza app has been downloaded over 1.8 million times since launching just over a year ago. And it will continue to be the only way to check in, obtain boarding passes, make menu purchases and enjoy entertainment onboard.

With 12 of Bonza’s 21 destinations on sale from today (until 2 April), Australian travellers can take advantage of special website launch fares starting at $39 per person (excluding checked baggage).

The discounted destinations include Cairns, Darwin, Gladstone, Melbourne (Tullamarine), Mackay, Mildura, Newcastle, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Tamworth, Toowoomba Wellcamp, and Townsville.

What else?

Additionally, the new website features Bonza’s group booking service, a digital chat function and a travel agent portal with over 1,400 registered travel agents.

The airline’s new website lets customers book tailored package holidays to any of their 21 destinations, with activities and attractions also coming soon. Each Bonza Holiday package includes a 23kg checked bag, 8kg hand luggage and standard ‘Pick’ seats.

Plus, the carrier offers a price match guarantee, in which it will refund the difference if customers find a cheaper holiday within 24 hours of booking.

More choice

Bonza CEO Tim Jordan says customers will now have more choice with its multiple booking channels.

“We’ve listened to our customers and their feedback was that not everyone wants to book via the app so we’ve created a user-friendly website meaning even more Aussies can take advantage of our low-cost airfares on 36 routes to 21 destinations,” he stated.

“We’re still encouraging customers to download and use the Fly Bonza app as it’s still the only way to check in, retrieve your boarding pass, buy food and drink from our All Aussie menu and enjoy many entertainment options while onboard – essentially your very own pocket travel buddy.

“We’re proud of being early digital adopters in the Australian aviation space and the feedback we get from our customers is that the app is a fantastic addition to their Bonza experience.

“But we understand that some customers prefer to book online so introducing this easy-to-use website as a digital companion to our Fly Bonza app allows us to reach many more travellers who have yet to experience Bonza.”

One month ago, the budget airline revealed the official name of its sixth aircraft – and it’s a moniker the airline thinks will resonate with its flyers (if they don’t reject it): ‘Bruce’.

In February, the airline announced it would link the Sunshine Coast and Tasmania for the first time.
