Amplifications continue across the Royal Caribbean fleet, with the line’s biggest ship, Allure of the Seas, chosen to be next in line to undergo the multi-million dollar transformation.
Royal Caribbean announced this week that Allure of the Seas would be pulled out of service for 58 days during which time she’ll receive a $165 million makeover including the addition of new restaurants, kids areas and a HUGE slide.
Allure of the Seas will be the fifth ship to undergo the amplification, following her sister-ship Oasis of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas.

ALL THE DETAILS OF THE AMPLIFICATION
Ultimate Abyss is coming to Allure of the Seas.
The amplification of an Oasis-class ship takes roughly 58 days, according to a Royal Caribbean press release, and includes a range of changes designed to modernise and refresh the onboard experience.
Among the biggest changes on board will be the instalment of the Ultimate Abyss also referred to as the tallest slide at sea as it sends riders plummeting down 10 stories of twists and turns. There’s also two of them that run alongside each other so guests can compete to see who can slide down faster.
Allure of the Seas will be fitted with The Perfect Storm.
Thrillseekers will also enjoy The Perfect Storm, a trio of waterslides (Typhoon, Cyclone and Supercell) that have translucent panels for unforgettable and exciting views.
Continuing on with entertainment, young cruisers will enjoy the Splashaway Bay aquapark featuring twin drench buckets, three waterslides, fountains, pools, water cannons and a Splash Pad for tots.
Kids areas will be revamped.
For the kids, there’ll also be a layout for Adventure Ocean that includes climate creations at Play Place, hands-on-art at Workshop, interactive games at Arena, gaming consoles and ‘me’ time at the Hangout, as well as AO Babies for babies and tots and AO Junior for 3-to-five-year-olds.
Teens will get a 360-degree transformational experience at the Maxed-Out Teen Space where there’s a speakeasy-like entrance, gaming consoles, music, movies and an outdoor deck.
Portside BBQ is among the new restaurants.
The pool deck will also be completely reimagined to include The Lime & Coconut bar, cabana-style seating, daybeds, hammocks, swing seats, new whirlpools and more, and the ship will receive Glow-In-The-Dark Laser Tag, an Escape Room, and Spotlight Karaoke – a bar dedicated to karaoke with a main stage and private rooms.
When it comes to dining, the options just keep growing as Royal Caribbean introduces six new options such as Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, El Loco Fresh, Portside BBQ, and more.
WHERE CAN YOU CATCH ALLURE OF THE SEAS POST-AMPLIFICATION?

Come May 2020 and Allure of the Seas will make seven-night Western Mediterranean roundtrips from Barcelona to Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Provence (Marseille), France; Florence/Pisa (La Spezia), Rome (Civitavecchia) and Naples/Capri, Italy.
From November 2020, she’ll make her way to Miami for a season of seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises which feature calls to a private island in The Bahamas called ‘Perfect Day at CocoCay’.
