Just two months after opening its first store, Cruiseabout has held its inaugural conference at Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) headquarters in Brisbane.

Just two months after opening its first store, Cruiseabout has held its inaugural conference at Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) headquarters in Brisbane.

Supported by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and Visit Seattle, the event saw nearly 40 guests in attendance including the Cruiseabout leadership team and the brand’s network of agents from across Australia.

During the conference, an annual event moving forward, leaders gave updates on product and marketing activities and also launched an incentive for its top sellers – a trip to the Mexican Riveria, courtesy of NCL.

As key supporters, Visit Seattle and NCL showcased Seattle as a stand-alone destination and the range of cruises departing from the city’s iconic port. NCL departs from Seattle between April and October with Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Encore and Norwegian Joy.

Cruiseabout General Manager Brad Kennedy told Karryon “the energy at our inaugural conference was truly remarkable”.

Cruising is still booming.

“We have an exceptional group of travel advisors who are deeply passionate about the cruise industry, and it was an absolute privilege to bring them together to exchange ideas,” he added.

“We are highly optimistic about the impact Cruiseabout will have on the market and look forward to expanding our team as we grow our stores and advisors over the next 12 months.

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and reward and recognition is fundamental to this. We are delighted to offer these enriching opportunities to our team.”

In addition, Cruiseabout acknowledged its top achievers Aaron Perrott, Lynnette Thompson, Angie Reilly and Kat Logan, who all attended the recent Global Gathering in Lisbon.

More stores coming soon

The business, which continues its comeback after a five-year hiatus, currently boasts two stores – in Perth and the Gold Coast. The FCTG brand told Karryon more stores were slated to open later this year in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

FCTG announced the relaunch of the Cruiseabout brand in Australia in August 2023.
