It has happened! It has finally happened! Scenic last month took delivery of the World’s First Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse, which means the luxury ship is one step closer to hosting guests.
Uljanik Shipyard transferred keys (and ownership) of Scenic Eclipse to the cruise line on 26 July, three-and-a-half years after news of her construction was first announced.
Proud of the progress, Scenic’s Glen Moroney said the ship is now officially registered and certified for passenger ship operations.

Following her delivery, the 114 all-suites ship set off on her first journey to Valletta in Malta where she was registered. From there, she will make a few short stops before arriving in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Once in Iceland, she’ll load her first guests and set off on her maiden voyage, a 13-day discovery sailing via Greenland and Eastern Canada.
On 27 August, Scenic Eclipse will arrive in Quebec before heading to New York City for her christening with Godmother Helen Mirren on 10 September.
Onboard Scenic’s newest vessel, guests will find 10 dining options, a 5,920 ft² spa, two six-guest helicopters, one submarine and a 240-seat theatre.
Indoor and outdoor plunge pools will be available along with butler service.
