Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings' bright 2036 outlook sees eight brand-new, state-of-the-art ships on order across its NCL, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises brands plus a multi-ship pier on its private Caribbean island in its future.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ bright 2036 outlook sees eight brand-new, state-of-the-art ships on order across its NCL, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises brands plus a multi-ship pier on its private Caribbean island in its future.

The eight new ships will create almost 25,000 additional berths and new ship classes for each ocean-going cruise brand.

The next-generation vessels include four 5,000-passenger NCL ships delivered between 2030-2036 plus two Allura Class ships for Oceania and two RSSC Explorer Class ships by 2029.

In partnership with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, each brand will design its new ship class to create the largest, most efficient vessels and align with NCLH’s sustainability journey towards decarbonisation.

Details about the ships’ amenities, staterooms, dining, recreational, efficiency, sustainability and other features will be announced soon.

In addition, Norwegian will construct a USD$150 million (approximately AUD$22.7 million) multi-ship pier at its private island, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, due for completion in late 2025.

The new pier will accommodate new and future larger ship classes to increase vessel capacity in the Caribbean and offer year-round access.

NCLH hopes the long-term investment in fleet expansion and infrastructure will future-proof its growth potential and earnings, subject to ship-building financing approval.

NCLH President & CEO Harry Sommers said: “This strategic new-ship order across all three of our award-winning brands provides for the steady introduction of cutting-edge vessels into our fleet and solidifies our long-term growth.”

“We are likewise excited with the addition of a new pier at Great Stirrup Cay to support our increased capacity in the Caribbean and multiple ships to call on the island, enhancing our guest experience and bringing seamless and reliable access to our private island year-round.”
