It may only be Royal Caribbean’s second time cruising out of Brisbane, but the cruise line will have to cut the season short because it’s selling off Legend of the Seas.
Thomas Cruises purchased the vessel from the line this week, less than year after acquiring Legend’s sister ship, Splendour of the Seas.
In order for Legend to make its way to its new owners, five of her roundtrip Brisbane cruises in February and March next year have been cancelled and a sixth cruise on 9 April will also be rescheduled, bringing forward her repositioning from Brisbane to Asia to 20 February 2017.
All onward itineraries in Asia and Europe will also be affected, however, two new additional sailings will be offered from Singapore to Dubai (3 March 2017 for 10 nights) and Dubai to Barcelona (13 March for 13 nights).
Rhapsody of the Seas will replace Legend in the Mediterranean from June to October 2017.
Royal Caribbean has apologised for the inconvenience and is contacting affected guests directly or through their Travel Agent. The cruise line is offering guests an alternative Royal Caribbean cruise as well as discussing hotel and flight arrangements. Alternatively, the cruise line will offer a full refund on any deposits paid.
On a positive note, Royal Caribbean keeps extending Ovation of the Seas’ first visit to Australia, so there may still be some cabins on the technologically advance ship for your clients to sail in.
