Award-winning British actor and singer Hannah Waddingham will serve as the official Godmother of the Sun Princess with the naming ceremony of Princess Cruises’ newest ‘Love Boat’ taking place at the Port of Barcelona in April 2024.
The Ted Lasso actor joins an esteemed cast of Princess Godparents, including British royalty and screen legends with the christening ceremony set to be a star-studded event on 23 April.

All about the new ‘Love Boat’
Cruising to the Mediterranean and Caribbean during her maiden season, Sun Princess is the cruise company’s most innovative ship to date and the first in the Sphere Class with a raft of new venues and engineering features.
These include its largest casino at sea, its first-ever family activity zone, six new culinary venues, a two-level Lotus Spa and a three-storey dining room.
The new ship also contains The Dome – a brand-new, glass-enclosed structure at the top of the ship, inspired by Santorini – and the suspended Sphere Atrium above the central Piazza, blending indoor and outdoor spaces.
In addition, Sun Princess is the cruise line’s first LNG (liquefied natural gas) vessel, reducing emissions, and includes energy-recovery systems for eco-conscious cruising.
Sun Princess began her inaugural voyages in the Mediterranean on 29 February and will sail from Fort Lauderdale for her first Caribbean season in October.
