If you need any further indication that 2019 is going to be another MASSIVE year for the cruise industry then here it is. Norwegian has made history as the first major cruise line to run a TVC during the Super Bowl.

Sitting up there with the crème de la crème of multi-million dollar commercials with millions and millions of eyes upon them is a lively ad promoting just how awesome cruising is. BIG, RIGHT?

You can check out the brand spanking new 30 second ad below, which ran for the first time yesterday during one of the most watched games in the world.

As you can see, it shines the spotlights on the entertaining and thrilling experiences across Norwegian’s 16-strong fleet back to Andy Grammer’s re-recording of “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” – “Good to Be Free.”

The Super Bowl ad forms part of Norwegian’s larger international TVC initiative, with the line launching its first ever Australian and New Zealand television advertising campaign last year.

And how cool is this: a local version of the Super Bowl ad will air in Australia from Friday.

The local TVCs are part of Norwegian’s largest campaign investment to date, with the first Australian TVC premiering in Sydney in September 2018. Extended following its success, the original TVC is currently airing in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Both of the 30 and 15-second adverts will be featured on rotation across several free to air channels including Seven, Nine and SBS.

The commercials showcase Norwegian’s ‘Feel Free’ ethos while also highlighting Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, Australia and New Zealand as key destinations for the cruise line.
