Scenic Group has today announced the continuation of its longstanding Channel Nine Getaway Partnership, which is now entering its fifteenth year.
The partnership first began in 2008, with a special episode featuring Catriona Rowntree as the Godmother for Scenic Sapphire and then progressed to Getaway’s Principal Partner from 2013.
This year, Getaway will feature newly filmed content showcasing Scenic’s truly all-inclusive luxury river and yacht cruises, and handcrafted land journeys.
From Antarctica to the Mediterranean, Arctic, Europe, and closer to home in Tasmania and Queensland’s outback. Scenic’s sister brand Emerald Cruises will also feature for the first time on Getaway, to celebrate Emerald Azzurra’s inaugural season in the Mediterranean.

This Saturday at 5.30 pm, Getaway will air a spectacular feature story of the stunning expedition journey through Antarctica and South Georgia. The episode was filmed on the first Scenic Eclipse Expedition Voyage of 2022 and is presented by photojournalist and documentary maker David Adams.
Over two episodes on 2 April and 7 May, David will share his experience in the pristine landscapes and discovering the unique wildlife of Antarctica and South Georgia in ultra-luxury with Scenic Eclipse.
Highlights include excursions with the expert Discovery Team, a once-in-a-lifetime helicopter flight over vast icescapes by helicopter, the first-ever commercial submarine dive in South Georgia and deep exploration by Zodiac, kayak and stand-up paddleboard.
It will also showcase the indulgent, ultra-luxury spaces on board Scenic Eclipse, as David samples culinary creations in up to 10 dining experiences and nine lounges and bars, including his favourite – the Scenic Lounge Bar, with up to 100 different Whiskies on offer.
David Adams said, “I say this without exaggeration, a journey to Antarctica on Scenic Eclipse is like travelling to another world. It was totally different to anything I’ve ever experienced. You are in the most pristine and remote place in the world, and then you have the grandeur of Scenic Eclipse. I don’t think I ever got used to that. It was incredible.”
