Link Travel Group has revealed its latest expansion, with four new agencies set to join the organisation.

Link Travel Group has revealed its latest expansion, with four new agencies set to join the organisation.

Melbourne’s Mettrex Travel will become the group’s newest member on 1 April, while Maxims Travel (Sydney), Solve Travel Management (Sydney) and Lexus Travel (Melbourne) will join the invitation-only group on 1 July. 

In addition to this, Maxims Travel Managing Director Chris Goddard will also join the organisation’s advisory board. 

Link General Manager Scott Darlow said the announcement marks the initial phase of the group’s growth strategy, which was revealed to its preferred partners last November.

“Naturally we are delighted to welcome these four high-performing agencies with stellar reputations, who will be great additions to our membership,” he stated.

“Chris will be a fantastic addition to our Advisory Board, and his experience in global travel affairs will no doubt benefit all our members. 

“He’ll occupy the final seat on the Advisory Board and with that we believe we now have the most comprehensive mix of experience, knowledge and diversity within the industry who will assist with guiding and shaping our future.”

Goddard said the Link membership “made both commercial and strategic sense for Maxims Travel”.

“Joining Link made both commercial and strategic sense for Maxims Travel. Our industry is evolving by the day and it’s imperative that we partner with the right collective of like minds to take us all forward into the future,” he added.

“I’m also humbled to have been invited to join the Link Advisory Board, a who’s who of travel in many respects, and I look forward to playing a part in the future direction of Link.”

Mettrex Travel Managing Director Mark Reeves said the company was thrilled with the invitation to join Link Travel Group and “we’re very excited to accept it”.

“We believe that Link’s substantial overall offering is exactly what Mettrex Travel has been looking for in order for us to realise our growth ambitions,” he stated.

Mirroring Reeves’ comments, Solve Travel Management Chief Operating Officer David Barnett said the company was “excited to once again partner with like-minded people who are heading in the same direction as we are”.

“Solve Travel Management is delighted to have been invited to join Link Travel Group,” he added. 

“Our industry is fast-paced and evolving quickly, and we feel that Link offers us the opportunity to tap into new technologies via their expansive ecosystem which is being heavily invested in.”

Lexus Travel Executive Director Ian Strachan is equally excited.

“I couldn’t be happier to have been invited to join Link Travel Group. I especially look forward to once again working within a transparent environment where my business interests are front and centre,” he remarked.

“Link offers a comprehensive package which will certainly benefit Lexus Travel into the future.”

In December 2023, Link welcomed its 16th member, Perth-based agency Travel & Sports Australia.
