It’s big, it’s colourful and it’s happening this weekend.The 40th Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras festival will officially open this weekend with the Mardi Gras Fair day.

All the action will be taking place from 10am until 8pm at Victoria Park in Camperdown this Sunday, February 18.

It will be for a full blown day of entertainment and picnicking in the sun.

Sounds blissful!


There will more than 250 stalls with the Fair Day to take over out the entire park.

Attractions will include the Sports Village where you can sign up for LGBTQI sporting teams, the ANZ Main Stage and the Tropicana Bar.

The main stage will host performances by the NSW Police Band, the Swing Out Sydney dancers and the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir.

There will also be cabaret performances, comedians and DJs Seta.


Dog-lovers, rejoice. There will be a host of doggie-themed events on the day including a doggy photo booth, a ‘Game of Bones’ dog pageant (hah, yes puns) with prizes on offer in categories including best dressed, most talented and best in show.

Best of all, the fabulous festivity has free entry.
