Princess Cruises will introduce MedallionNet Max Wi-Fi services to its Princess Plus and Premier packages, upping the ante with next-level internet connectivity at sea using SpaceX’s Starlink technology and other options for passengers to access the highest-performing bandwidth anywhere they sail in the world.
MedallionNet Max will offer its Princess Plus and Premier inclusive package passengers priority access to the best quality Wi-Fi available at sea.
For passengers, it means they can easily and quickly share photos and videos, stream movies and live events and enjoy other content while on board.
It represents the top tier of its MedallionNet onboard internet service, joining the existing Classic connectivity available for all Princess Cruises passengers.
MedallionNet Classic costs remain at USD$24.99 per day for a single-device plan and $44.99 per day for a multi-device plan.
The appropriate service level will be assigned based on each guest’s package as indicated on the Princess app and all accessible via the same single guest network to avoid confusion.
Princess Cruises President John Padgett said MedallionNet Max is engineered to meet the demands of today’s intensively digitally connected travellers.
“Just like we did when we launched MedallionNet Classic almost seven years ago, Princess continues to ensure guests have access to the highest performing connectivity available at industry-leading value,” he said.
“By including MedallionNet Max in our incredible bundles, we are guaranteeing the best possible onboard experience with the best value anywhere in the world.”
Parent company Carnival Corporation was the world’s largest cruise line to adopt Starlink tech and began rolling the next-gen connectivity across its fleet of brands in December 2022.
