QR brings A380 back to Perth to boost pax capacity from December

Qatar Airways is reintroducing its A380 aircraft on daily Perth flights from 6 December 2022 to increase passenger capacity on its flights as part of the recent strategic partnership between Qatar Airways and Virgin Australia and timed for FIFA 2022.

Previously operated on the Boeing B777-300ER, the Airbus 380 aircraft can accommodate an additional 163 guests daily for a total of 517 seats across First Class, Business Class and Economy.

The aircraft upgrade also comes with a seasonal flight schedule timed to touch down in Doha for the FIFA 2022 World Cup Qatar matches.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said: “We want to demonstrate our commitment to Australia by continuing the work we did during the pandemic to keep Australians connected.”

“During the much-anticipated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, all flights to and from Perth will be scheduled taking into consideration football match timings so that all fans can enjoy the biggest event of the year.”

Qatar Airways’ FIFA 2022 flight schedule to Doha will run from 6–20 December 2022 with daily flights departing Perth at 21:50.

From 21 December 2022, daily flights from Perth to Doha with Qatar Airways will depart at 22:55.

The expanded Qatar Airways and Virgin Australia codeshare alliance opens seamless travel to more than 150 destinations across both networks to the Middle East and beyond to Africa and Europe.
