Amid rising interest in the destination, Wendy Wu Tours is set to host its inaugural megafam trip to China this month, with 100 agents from Australia, New Zealand and the UK to take part in the trip.
Led by Wendy Wu herself, the group will explore Zhangjiajie – famously depicted in the film Avatar.
The tour operator, a specialist in travel to China, has also promised agents top-notch accommodation and curated experiences, including world-class shows directed by Zhangyimou, renowned for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Comprising retailers and independent agents, the group will kick off its tour in Changsha, celebrated for its vibrant nightlife.
The megafam then moves to Zhangjiajie, where guests will experience walking on a suspended glass walkway, ziplining into valleys, ascending a mountain in a “rocket lift” and trying virtual reality hot air balloon rides.
Wu flags the elevator experience as a highlight of the trip.
“Our guests will love it,” she says, promising guests will “be treated like royalty every step of the way” during the famil.
“The Bailong Elevator which travels 326 metres up one of the park’s 3,000 pillars has won not one but three Guinness Book of World Records awards, for the tallest full-exposure outdoor elevator, the world’s tallest double-deck sightseeing elevator, and the world’s fastest passenger traffic elevator with the biggest carrying capacity.”
Additional highlights include a scenic boat ride on Baofeng Lake and performances within Heaven’s Gate Cave on Tianmen Mountain, showcasing singing, dancing and acrobatics.
“We will have a full banquet afterwards. It’s going to blow our agent partners away. The scenery and the atmosphere are just spectacular,” Wu says.
