Scenic Tours has launched a dedicated Christmas Wonderland brochure, which includes a number of festive cruises and land tours for anyone wanting to experience a European winter or seeking a cold white Canadian Christmas this year.

Guests will enjoy a traditional white Christmas in the Canadian mountains on Scenic’s 14/12 Day Christmas in the Rockies.

Taking off from Victoria to Banff, the tour includes one night aboard the ‘Snow Train’ from Vancouver to Jasper, a sleigh ride along the lakeside trail to the end of majestic Lake Louise and Christmas with a traditional Christmas Day brunch and dinner at either the Fairmont Banff Springs or the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

Departures on 13, 15, 17 and 19 December.

Or your clients can travel to Europe for the festive lights and traditional Christmas markets which begin in late November.

Sailing the grand waterways on a 15-day Christmas Markets River Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam departing 23 November, they will enjoy the festive sights and sounds along the way.

4. Intrepid’s new expedition range

Intrepid Holidays Expedition Range travel brochure

Intrepid Travel has unveiled a range of Expedition trips, with itineraries in a southern Mexican jungle, Georgia, Kosovo and Papua New Guinea the first to be announced, and with more itineraries to off-the-map regions expected to be unveiled throughout 2015.

The trips in the Expedition range will have limited departures in 2015, allowing Intrepid to test new product as well as satisfy the adventurous spirit of its most well-travelled customers and staff.

More than 50 submissions met the criteria set out by Intrepid for the new range of exploratory-style tours, which required trips to be logistically possible, not include a ‘danger zone’, and to visit somewhere genuinely new and unusual.

Intrepid Travel acknowledges that the Expedition style of travel is not for everyone with a warning on its website that these are new trips and travellers should “expect some things to go wrong”.
