MTA – Mobile Travel Agents’ – were among the first in the Australian industry to cruise the ocean like a Viking.
Co-managing Directors Roy and Karen Merricks secured tickets to be on Viking Cruise Line’s first ocean ship, Viking Star, when she launched in May.
During their voyage with four other Australian agencies, the group trailed the vessel’s many features, including the Snow Grotto, infinity pool and pop-up barbeques.
Port days saw the group explore Copenhagen, Berlin, St Petersburg, Tallinn and Helsinki.
They were also lucky enough to meet the master of the vessel – a very tall Norwegian Captain Gulleik Svalastog.
Karen said meeting the Captain was important to the pair because it’s part of their focus on maintaining industry relationships.
