With a recent top to toe redesign, a Shambala Spa and Michelin-starred dining at its Nobu restaurant it’s difficult not to fall in love with the luxury Mayfair hotel – Metropolitan by COMO, London.

1. Top to toe redesign

Metropolitan by COMO has recently undergone a top to toe redesign attracting a young and design-conscious crowd with its new modern and minimalistic interior decor.

Once you step inside the modern block building you are met by a sleek reception area and friendly staff dressed in impeccable uniforms.

Upon check in you will receive a hot towel infused with the hotel’s signature Asian inspired essential oils (it is almost like checking in to a spa/ sanitarium).

The recent redesign has seen the hotel rooms and suits getting new fresh colour palettes of natural hues and textures, influenced by the flora of Hyde Park in shades of green and berry, as well as rich American walnut, sycamore, pale and dark timbers.

Each room comes with its own Nespresso machine.

The furnishing is contemporary and the Junior Suite brims with natural light and also comes with a large extremely comfortable sofa, a desk, king-size bed, spacious bathroom and a mini-bar.

The room also has its own Nespresso machine (yay!) and offers free wifi!

2. Hotel amenities

Great amenities!

There’s nothing worse than staying at a nice hotel then having to wash your hair in something not too dissimilar to dishwashing liquid.

However when staying at Metropolitan by COMO that’s the least of your worries. The hotel offers great shampoo, conditioner and shower gel leaving your hair and skin with a light and pleasant essential oil fragrance.

The bathroom also has bath salt and a great body lotion and also comes with a towel heater and digital weighing scale

3. Stunning view of Hyde Park

The Junior Suite offers a great view over Hyde Park.

With its premium location in the heart of Mayfair next to Hyde Park the Junior Park Suite offers a spectacular view of the leafy park and provides a sense of serenity.

The window blinds are controlled from a touch screen linked to the room telephone (this is also where you control the room temperature).

In the evening the oversized panorama windows display the city skyline, which can be viewed from the comfortable sofa in the room.

4. Nobu Restaurant

Breakfast is served at Nobu.

When staying at Metripolitan on COMO you’ll have to visit the hotel’s Japanese-Peruvian fusion Michelin-starred

restaurant – Nobu, co-founded by Robert De Niro.

Situated on the first floor this popular hot spot serves up mouthwatering food in the evening (make sure you try the squid pasta) which can only be described as divine and in my opinion is still one of London’s best restaurants.

A bonus is the breakfast, which is also served in the restaurant. Try one of the detoxing juices and pair it with poached eggs with greens for a real health kick.
