The latest Virgin Australia sale has discounted more than one million domestic and international fares from $49 one-way across 34 destinations – on sale until 27 July 2026.
The Virgin Australia sale spans Economy Lite, Choice and Business Class fares for selected travel between 25 August 2026 and 22 June 2027, starting with an entry $49 one-way fare from Sydney to Ballina Byron.
International Economy Lite return fares are the standout for outbound sellers, led by Bali (Denpasar) from $429 return out of Melbourne and the Gold Coast, and Queenstown from $445 return ex Melbourne. Fiji (Nadi) starts from $599 return and Vanuatu (Port Vila) from $469 return.
The Virgin Australia ‘Book it before you overthink it’ sale is on from 20–27 July 2026, unless sold out prior for selected travel dates.
Where the international fares go
Bali remains the top drawcard for Australian travellers with Sydney to Denpasar from $469 return and Brisbane from $519 return alongside the $429 Melbourne and Gold Coast fares.
Across the Tasman, Queenstown lands from $445 return ex Melbourne and $535 return from Sydney and Brisbane. Fiji fares run from $599 return ex Melbourne and Sydney and $609 ex Brisbane, while Port Vila starts from $469 return out of Brisbane.
The domestic and business class picks
Domestic Economy Lite one-way fares open at $49 Sydney to Ballina Byron, $65 Sydney to the Gold Coast and $69 Sydney to the Sunshine Coast. Capital-city routes, such as Brisbane to Sydney and Melbourne to Sydney start from $105, while the transcontinental Perth to Brisbane is on sale from $249.
Business Class is also included in the Virgin Australia sale from $219 one-way (Sydney–Ballina Byron), while Economy X extra-legroom upgrades on eligible domestic flights are available from $12 per person, per sector.
Holiday packages and Velocity value
Virgin Australia Holidays, powered by Hopper, is bundling flight-and-accommodation packages alongside the airfare sale, with Cairns from $390 per person (Brisbane return, two nights) and Bali from $655 per person (Melbourne return, four nights), both based on two travellers. Virgin Australia Holidays was revived earlier this year after six years with a Bali-first push.
Velocity Frequent Flyer members can earn double Status Credits on eligible holiday packages booked by 27 July 2026 on top of standard base earn with Points able to be earned and redeemed on Virgin Australia sale fares and eligible packages.
