Aman Venice has launched a tour to some of the oldest and most established ateliers in the city for a rare glimpse into the world of Venetian artistry.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Venice Biennale, regarded as the ‘Olympics’ of the world of art, Aman Venice has launched a series of exclusive experiences for guests visiting the city this European summer.

In a private three-hour tour, they can watch weavers in Bevilacqua hand-hewn textiles and meet artisans at Orsoni, a traditional Venetian producer of hand-cut artisanal mosaics that has used the same process since 1888.

Aman Venice’s General Manager, Licinio Garavaglia, says it’s also created a ‘Secret Islands’ tour on a private wooden boat with a local Venetian captain, to visit places like the remote island of San Francesco del Deserto and Sant’Erasmo.

“It’s a unique experience that takes guests to rare sights in Venice, including lesser-known islands and secluded spots.

“A highlight of this tour is the stunning natural beauty of the Venetian lagoon, with its picturesque landscapes, colourful buildings, and serene waters.”

Staying in

For those who want an exclusive experience onsite, Aman Venice is holding an exclusive two-hour ‘Perfume Olfactory’ workshop with local master perfumer, Joan Giacomin.

Garavaglia says guests can discover the ancient process of making perfume and blend a bespoke scent, and afterwards, Aman’s skilled mixologist will craft a cocktail that reflects the fragrance.

“It is important to Aman Venice to support the local community that the property resides in, including local companies and Venetians skilled in their craft.

“Joan Giacomin was chosen for this workshop as she is a highly regarded perfumery specialist that works closely with globally recognised Venetian brands.”

Come Sunday, guests can partake in a leisurely three-course Italian brunch under the 16th-century chandeliers in the Arva dining room (pictured), enjoying the traditional slower pace of life dolce far niente – meaning ‘the art of doing nothing’.
