Atlas Ocean Voyages is giving a sneak peek inside its “world-first” luxury expedition sailing yacht, Atlas Adventurer, which will set sail in 2028.
The cruise line, a newcomer to the increasingly competitive luxury expedition cruise segment, has launched three expedition yachts – World Navigator, World Traveller and World Voyager, with Atlas Adventurer its “world-first” luxury sailing expedition yacht.
The design of the 400-guest yacht has been inspired by the golden age of travel, “reflecting the spirit of 1930s liners through proportion, artistry, and quiet opulence”.
Inside, expect polished marble with high-gloss mahogany and hand-finished metals, while bespoke furnishings are a nod to the Art Deco era.

Atlas Ocean Voyages President James A. Rodriguez says the yacht represents a “pivotal step forward for our brand and for expedition travel”.
“Atlas Ocean Voyages was launched with a very clear purpose: to redefine luxury expedition cruising for the modern explorer.
“We saw an opportunity to create a brand that combines immersive, destination-rich experiences with an intimate yacht-style atmosphere and highly personalised service.”

He says from the beginning, the philosophy was to design yachts that are nimble, efficient and capable of accessing ports and waterways larger ships simply cannot reach.
“Adventurer builds upon our proven design platform while incorporating enhancements in sustainability, operational efficiency and onboard comfort.”
Dual-fuel engines, an electric-hybrid propulsion system, and a nine-megawatt marine battery support silent, low-emission cruising, meaning a sail-assisted experience designed for minimal environmental impact in some of the world’s most remote destinations.
There has been talk about Atlas deploying a ship in local waters, and Rodriguez says while the company is not announcing a fixed timeline, “Australasia is firmly part of our long-term deployment planning. We are taking deliberate, measured steps to build sustainable growth in the region.”
