The W Maldives, a Marriott hotel, is set to reopen in North Ari Atoll, Maldives after a multi-million dollar “full-scale” renovation.
The five-star resort, one of the most anticipated hotel reopenings in the Maldives, has 77 villas, a house reef a short swim from shore, and a private island for ultimate seclusion.
Each beach or overwater villa was redesigned to reflect the island’s biodiversity.
Beach villas take their design cues from the local mangroves, while overwater villas draw from coral reefs and whale sharks.
Guests can expect sprawling bedrooms with lounge areas, marble bathrooms, private pools and cabanas.
Days can be spent diving on the property’s yacht, Escape, to spot whale sharks, giant rays and Spinner and Fraser’s dolphins, or simply snorkel in the house coral reef with the onsite marine biologist.
Afterwards, take a trip to private island Gaathafushi for a romatic dinner under the stars, or take your pick from the four restaurants and bars at the resort.
Choose Fish for fresh local seafood, or Fire for an elevated backyard grill and charcoal dining experience where you can dine with your feet in the sand.
Kitchen is an all-day dining bistro with an open-style kitchen, or head to Sip for a signature cocktail with caviar and oysters while you listen to the beats by the resident DJ.
The resort’s Dare to Taste program will also feature collaborations with renowned chefs.
For the ultimate in relaxation, the award-winning Away Spa offers everything from an eye treatment to full body massage in private overwater treatment rooms.
Even during a workout you can make the most of the view, with a gym with state-of-the-art equipment overlooking the Indian Ocean.
The resort will reopen in Q1 2025.
